Canada's first online live Cookalong with Vikram Vij

Have you ever dreamed of your favourite chef coming into right your kitchen to teach you how to cook a dinner just like them?

When I have these dreams, one of the faces I wish I could see beside me at the stove is Vikram Vij, award-winning chef, author and Canadian hero of Indian cuisine. Well, this March I will get my wish (along with everyone across the country and around the world) as we all get the opportunity to cook alongside Vikram when he hosts Canada's First Ever Live Online Cookalong on Thursday, March 7th, 2013.

Cook Live with Vikram Vij will be streamed live from the website to viewers' computers as Vikram shows us all how to prepare a family meal at 6 pm ET and 3 pm PT. Even more exciting, the event will be interactive, and you can tweet questions with the hashtag #vijcooklive during the broadcast right to Vikram as you cook along with him at home.

The menu and ingredients for the Cookalong will be published in newspapers across Canada during the week of March 4th so you can stock up on everything you will need for your own Indian Family Dinner on March 7th.

I am beyond excited about Canada's first live online cookalong AND at the opportunity to learn directly from a chef that Canada is so lucky to have championing the cause of eating better and eating together.  I'll be live tweeting pictures of how my versions of Vikram's recipes turn out as I cook along on Devour & Conquer's twitter page. This, to me, is social media at its best and tastiest and I'm looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Thank you in advance, Vikram and the Vij's team, for sharing your skills and knowledge in a new and innovative way.  I can't wait to be part of this, and hope lots of others join me in being part of Canada's first live online cookalong on March 7th.
